Process

Ascend is a The North Face documentary following Vasu Sojitra and his friends Emilé Zynobia and Zahan Billimoria as they summit and ski Mt. Moranand reshape the conversation around disability in the outdoors.

Because Vasu uses his platform on social media to create positive change, finding a way to integrate the social media conversations and UI into the film was important. I animated graphics to tell the story of how he uses social media to reshape the conversation around disability in the outdoors while still feeling within The North Face brand.

I worked with friend, filmmaker and ultrarunner Faith E. Briggs on this documentary with Top Top Studio and my brother Ryan Miyamoto.
